The Rudy Tenio Jazz Vocal Trio made their debut in October 2001 at the Asian American Jazz Festival, where they were featured in a tribute to jazz pianist, Flip Nunez.
Rudy Tenio performed in San Francisco and around the Bay Area for many years, including San Francisco's Fairmont Hotel, Pier 39, and in jazz clubs such as Yoshi's, Kimballs, and Milestones. He appeared in Nihomachi and Cherry Blossom Festivals, and was a featured performer in the 1981, 1984, 1987, 2001 and 2002 Asian American Jazz Festivals. The 1984 AAJF, which was billed as the "Filipino Summit," featured, along with Rudy, pianist "Wilm Man from Mindanao" Bobby Enriquez and the notable Flip Nunez. The 2001 and 2002 performances included his newly formed Jazz Vocal Trio. In 1999, Rudy released his first CD entitle "I Listen To My Heart" a compilation of his favorite love ballad and two of his original songs.
The sisters, Georgie Leong and Stevie Wallage, started singing in the early 60's with their sisters - forming the Third Wave vocal group under the direction of George Duke. The Third Wave performed at the Monterey Jazz festival with Carmen McRae and Dizzy Gillespie, and the Schiltz Salute to Jazz with Dionne Warwick, as well as performing in numerous European tours and television shows.
After taking a break to raise their families, Georgie and Stevie teamed up with their uncle, to form the Rudy Tenio Jazz Vocal Trio. The Trio was a fixture at the Wine and Roses Hotel and Restaurant in Lodi, California until 2009.
